2008 4-H Field Skills Camp

If you are a 4-H member or leader interested in archery, hunting skills, orienteering (map & compass), GPS geo-caching or sportfishing ... this camp is for you! We will be covering a wide range of practical skills you can use TODAY to enhance your outdoor experiences.

This camping opportunity is being sponsored by the Colorado Division of Wildlife, the Golden Plains Area Extension 4-H Program and the 4-H Shooting Sports & 4-H Sportfishing Programs.

Archery participants will learn skills in bow hunting, tree stand hunting, game tracking, archery string making and arrow building. Angling participants will learn a variety of angling skills, aquatic ecology, lure making and fly tying. All participants will experience orienteering and GPS equipment usage. Finally, participants will be envolved in a community service project which will be to construct handicapped accessable trails for the facility.

The camp will be held on July 11 through 13, 2008 at the Whiskey Springs Ranch located east of Crook, Colorado in Logan County. The cost is $40.00 per member and $30.00 per leader. Camp registrations are limited and the deadline is July 3, 2008, so make plans now to take part in this great camping opportunity.
